Wash and style - $45
Trim $45
Tip $20
Total $110
Reminder as to why I no longer go to a stylist weekly? PRICELESS!
I had to get about an inch trimmed off and it looks and feels so much better.
The stylist I went to was someone whose work I've seen and one of my girlfriends goes to her as well so I was pretty comfortable letting her trim my hair. I was more than a bit shocked at the cost...but hey...I've not had a trim since February so I'm okay with paying that much once a year or so. At least I'm happy with the results.
Things I wasn't happy with? She didn't put moisturizer on my hair after I sat under the dryer prior to her blow drying it. That kinda irked me. In fact...there was no moisturizer used at all. They used something called Wala (I think???) leave in conditioner that was supposed to be moisturizing before I got under the dryer. And then she put some kind of oil in my hair as a finisher and I really , REALLY hope it didn't have any alcohol in it.
She had a few of the normal stylist opinions that they always give you, of course, but since I have been on this hair journey and have seen "the truth" by actually doing and seeing results.
I could have argued with her. I could have shared with her my points of view...but I didn't cuz I knew I'd only see her once a year or so and there is no reason to get into all of that with her considering the minimal amount of time involved.
Something I liked about her was that she didn't dilly dally. There was no waiting around all day. It was very concise and she did it the way ALL stylists should be able to do it. I was VERY impressed as my time, to me, is valuable.
If you'd like to know who she is if you need a cut...send me an email and I'll give you her info. I watched her do a couple of heads and I have to say...the woman has skillz and if I wasn't on a "growing regimen" I'd go to her on the regular.

Hello. I have been reading your post for some time now, but have not posted anything myself until today. My daughter who is two years old does not have a lot of hair like myself and my seven year old. Do you know of any healthy hair and scalp regimens for little ones? My oldest daughter and I have very thick, long hair, however my youngest daughter took after my husband's side of the family where their hair is short. Any suggestions?
