IJ GOT ENGAGED OVER THE HOLIDAYS!!!!!!!!!!

In her own words:

T and I got engaged at 38,000 miles in the air on a return trip from New Orleans! We went there for New Year's - I love that place - the artists, the music - THE FOOOOOOOOOOD! He had the flight attendant and the pilots in on it - I thought he'd gotten violently ill - I was trying to get the attendant's attention - and she was just ignoring me. Humph!

I was about to pull out my inner ignant chick and rip this attendant a new one - when he popped on one knee and asked me to marry him.  I swear I couldn't hear a word, I don't even remember saying yes!

I was so surprised - and I am SO happy.

I think 2007-8 was such a time of growth for me. In order to accept that I could be loved,
I had to release a lot of negativity I'd harbored over the years - towards men and towards myself. I had to shed my superwoman cape and learn that humility and cooperation didn't mean that I was compromising standards or weak. And that showing your vulnerability to the right person didn't mean I would be taken advantage of. It feels great to be free of those fears.

He and I were BF/GF before, but IT IS DIFFERENT to know that someone is willing to build a life with you - flaws and all. I loved myself and love followed. I bettered myself and found someone even better than I could have imagined.

Anyhoo - I am filled with goody goody love right now - but I am also stepping right on back into the daily Tribe talks! I thank you and the tribe for helping me on my journey from the bottom of my heart.
