Every Spring I spend a pretty penny planting new stuff in the beds and in the pots and planters around our home. And yes...this is even though I have a whole lotta perennials (plants that come back for a few years). Yall know I LURVE playing in the dirt because I'm way, way KUNTRY.
This year, however, I decided to try seeds and grow them myself instead of buying them from the nursery already as seedlings.
I bought some Jiffy Strip peat pots and seeds. I got the small ones for the flowers and the larger round ones for the veggies and herbs. The peat pots were $2 a pack at Walmart and you get 5 strips of 10 in the small ones and 22 round ones. Peat pots are cool because once the plant has grown to the size you want it to be before planting...you just put the whole thing in the dirt.
Planting the seeds is pretty easy because the directions are pretty clear on the back of the package and well...it's not rocket science for sure. LOL!
They are supposed to germinate in 8 - 10 days so I guess in 2 weeks I'll be ready to get the beds done up right! GO ME!
Have YOU ever started from seeds? Any tips?
