You need a layer of gravel for drainage so excess water has somewhere to sit, and a mix of top soil, manure, peat moss and potting soil. (Potting soil is actually NOT needed but I wanted to top it off with that.)
16 - 40lb bags of top soil
2 - 25lb bags of manure
5 bags of gravel (creek rock, river bed rock, something like that...I just know what it looks like)
1 - 2.2 cubic feet of peat moss
First...spread out your gravel:
Then you just mix everything up nicely:
We mixed it up good and still have to go back tomorrow and get some more dirt cuz we'll need at LEAST three more good inches.
We used regular bricks to wrap it up nicely and The Robinator is going to do something with real, live concrete stuff to keep the bricks in place. I have been informed that I will not be allowed to mess with concrete because I'd probably fall in it face first. (I'm getting sick of all these claims of my being so clumsy I can't walk straight mind ya...)
I STILL can't believe we did this project together and no one got cut, hurt or cussed out like a red-headed step-child and I truly believe it's because I made SUCH a stink about Robby helping me because we ALWAYS fight when working together. This just might be the breakthrough we needed! LOL!
