I've been an Affirm girl for a mad minute now and messed around and ran out of product because I'm so unorganized in my personal life lately it's unreal. I wanted to do my hair the next day so I didn't have time to order it online as usual.
I hit up the Korean owned spot in my area and all they had was Mizani products and I got confused real quick because there were a lot of choices. So I returned home and researched Mizani relaxer systems and determined that the one I should try was the butter blend one.
Aiight. It was expensive cuz there are all of these components that went with it and well...hell...it was at the Korean spot. You know they gas up the prices. I read the shampoo ingredients and decided against it because there was sodium hydroxide in there (o_0). That just made no sense to me ya know?
I got the other components however and went to work.
I left it in for the 22 minutes I usually use and well...it was just okay to me. My roots looked as if there was still a bit of new growth (albiet softer) and I wasn't all that impressed with the results after a few weeks in. Coupled with the fact I've been stretching and using no heat to style...I found it was a bit of a challenge that I'm not used to. Then...it got me to wondering if it was that way because I didn't use the shampoo with the chemical in it. Hmmmmm...interesting huh?
Here's my dillema. This ish wasn't cheap and I have a crap load of it left. Dr. Punkin says I might need to leave it in a bit longer but that scares me. 22 minutes has always worked for me and I feel like it should with this product too especially as it's consistent with the time limits Mizani suggests as well.
What would YOU do if you were me? I guess I very well could eat the cost but I'll be annoyed as hell.
Have YOU ever used Mizani Butter Blend? What did YOU think? What relaxer system are you currently using? What do you like about it? Would you recommend to someone with hair like mine?
