So...DC has been trying to tighten up the welfare programs for a while now. They've just decided to withhold payments for up to a month for anyone who does not follow through with the required programs which are designed to help improve their lives like job training programs.
Some folks feel like a month isn't long enough. The initial call was for a 3 month suspension but some folks felt like that was TOO long.
The sanctions would be for the full family. So...even if the head of the family has a mental illness and doesn't follow through because of it...the entire family would suffer. No matter what.
