"Ain't no real bruhs going to H&M to buy some damn David Beckham underwear!" He continued, "If a dude at your Super Bowl party is hyped about David Beckham's H&M underwear ad, smack the ish out of him!"
Well a southern system which for the most part was mainly to give the southern areas some precip has moved northward a bit. Precip will start as rain Saturday night and gradually change to rain/snow mix or all snow Sunday morning after sunrise as colder air filters in. As always places north and west of the metro areas will see the most snow. Precip should continue into Sunday afternoon and end by game time. Not much is expected to fall during the day on Sunday. The far northern areas (the Pa border counties) may see up to inch on grassy areas. I don't expect road problems on Sunday. Model performance this winter has been worse than normal ( especially beyond 3 days), so I would expect further " refinements" of the forecast in the future.
For you early risers, looks like a little ice will be an issue a least during the first half of the morning rush hour. The NWS has already put up a freezing rain advisory for tonight and early tomorrow morning. This afternoon's model run came in colder for surface temperatures. Given the fact the cold air has held on tough these last 2 days and the system to affect us is a ways away, it will take longer to get rid of the cold air at the surface. Hence the batch of light precip that's expected overnight and during the predawn hours should be freezing rain. Temperatures will rise tomorrow in time for the next and more substantial batch of precip to fall as plain rain.
I've steered clear of this topic because I was annoyed that...
A) 14 year olds were doing this...OUTSIDE in the middle of the day no less. NOT just her but his lil nasty azz too. B) Folks were spreading the video of the act online. Some of them ADULTS! THAT'S AGAINST THE FUGGIN LAW IDJITS!
Do you think that the public reaction to the Casey Anthony verdict is because of shows like "Law & Order" and "CSI?" Do you think the public REALLY doesn't understand "BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT?" Do you think they expect everything to be swift and neatly wrapped up like on tv?
I was in a production meeting last night when the news came through regarding Bin Laden. We had like twenty things going on at once and I was on the phone. Folks started getting up from the table and Robby turned the television up. I'm justa talking on the phone about to cuss asking why in the hell is the television turned up so loud.
Seriously...people were speechless. I stood up with the phone and walked over to the television. I IMMEDIATELY got off. Once it registered we all started high-fiving and cheering and giving our President and our military mad props.
Did we keep working? Yes...but we still watched and I watched until I fell asleep.
I was STUNNED. Stunned I tell you. Would I have gone out to the White House had I been close enough to it to get there and back within 15 minutes? Yes. It was a significant moment in our time. It was closure of sorts to me and, even though it was kinda weird looking at the images this morning...I got it. I really, really got it.
As a country we have a lot to work on. Hell...we know this. It only takes a stop at the gas station to see this in action right up close. But let's keep it real. This has been a blemish on us for a long time. It was a wrong we felt needed to be righted. Symbolic? Sure...but it's a damn good ass symbol to me.
If you've been reading this blog for a minute yall know I'm as patriotic as they come. I love my country. I love my fellow Americans when they aren't being stoopit. I love my President.
Hopefully this is the beginning of some well needed upstarts for us and our political contributions to the world. Some serious shit needs to be done about Pakistan and I know I, for one, will be very flipping curious to see how that plays out. They mad cuz we didn't inform them we were going in. Seriously? I'm mad the shit has been sitting there in plain daylight since 2005. Somebody knew something. Do I have solutions? Nerp. But I have confidence that our President is going to go about this using intelligence and without bravado. We don't need a 'MISSION ACCOMPLISHED' banner. We need to deal with things quickly and effectively keeping in mind respect for other people's customs.
Burying him at sea within the time frame their custom dictates? Smart foreign policy regarding a war time casualty and quite simply...GANGSTA! That's the way you do it. We don't need to drag someone's body around as proof. We need to show that we understand. We get it. Even as it means we GOT HIM.
A school principal has banned sack lunches stating that the school prepares nutritious meals for the students and the kids who bring their lunch are bringing processed food filled with sugar and sodium.
Southwest is, hands down, my absolute FAVORITE airline. I love their no-nonsense kinda flying. Free bags, first come first serve...alla-dat.
So yeah...that's a concern.
SIP: YA THINK?????????
So...from reading about this I see that one chick was tweeting while this was going down. Of course people were using their phones to take pictures but tweeting? That made me go...Hmmmmmmm...
I've never used my phone during a flight except when landing and before we take off. In fact...I didn't even know the phones worked in the air. I thought the reason we couldn't use them was because of interference with frequencies and whatnot. I never really checked it out mind you...I figured them plane people knew what they were talking about.

Now...yall can sleep on it if you want to but dude be ON.IT! GO HOME EARLY!
A woman lives in a district where her kids would have to go to poor performing schools.
Her father lives in a distict where the schools are really good.
The woman decides she wants her kids to go to the better schools so they may have the better quality education.
She uses her father's address so the kids can go to the schools in her father's area.
The district spends $6,000 on private investigators to follow the kids and their mother to prove they don't live in the district.
The mother is arrested for fraud and sent to jail for 10 days.
I posted this article on FB last night and a good discussion evolved. The following comment was particularly interesting to me:
But what would you do if your child is the one who's redistricted to another school because someone is unfairly taking up their space? That's precisely what's happening here in my county. They're redistricting and changing some feeder patterns... and some kids won't be able to go to their neighborhood school due to overcrowding. A lot of that overcrowding is directly attributable to people cheating. When you choose to buy a house in a particular school district and pay a premium price to get into that district you should not be pushed out because of folk committing fraud. I agree that jail is a bit harsh, but the bottom line is, if you're not happy with your schools do something about it, or move to a better district, don't mooch off others who've paid the price.
I teared up when I watched the video of the reunion betwix Ted Williams and his mother. When he started running yelling "Hi Mommy! Hi Mommy!" it choked my evil behind up.
Then I watched the video and his 92-year old mother was REALLY real regarding the situation. Basically she was like...you know we've been here before. It's been disappointment after disappointment...so I hope he's going to do right this time.
She also went on to say how embarrassed she was that her son would be on side of the road with a sign and how it brought shame to their entire family.
She obviously felt some kinda way and it made me wonder...
What do YOU think? Did you see it? Do you think she should have NOT said those things? Is it wrong for her to be embarrassed that her son was going through this? Should she just assume he's going to do right this time and NOT be skeptical? As his mother...do you think she should have appeared to be more supportive or is she just keeping it real?
She was telling me about a voicemail that they'd received on their home phone wherein the man who left it sounded angry as hell.
He was also speaking in a foreign language they didn't recognize.
It weirded them out cuz, again, dude sounded PISSED about something.
Her husband was at work and called her to say he'd received a similar message on his cell phone. That freaked them out even more!
Her husband does something spooky for a living so he reported it and the matter was looked into.
We were in a pretty large store and went our separate ways for a minute. When I found her again she was looking exceptionally pale and she shared with me that she'd received the message on her cell phone.
Old girl was shook.
We left and she continued talking about it. She listened to the message again and I could hear it through her phone so I asked her to put it on speaker so I could hear it better.
Me: That's Haitian Creole.
Me: Lemme call my girl.
So I called Honest and left her a message to call me back. When she did we were driving so I pulled over and we put both phones on speaker so she could hear the message.
Honest: Oh...those are robo calls for the Presidential election in Haiti. I got one too.
Me: Thanks girl!
Neighbor: Whew! Thanks!
My neighbor called her spooky husband and told him.
She then teased him about how two housewives solved the mystery for them.
He laughed...but not really.
SIP: If he didn't I did. That ish was funny!
SIP: Yall out tablescaping and solving mysteries and ish. Got Honest involved. All women detective agency...with shopping.
Me: Hey...I didn't buy those boots.
SIP: YESTERDAY...you didn't buy those boots YESTERDAY. Today is a whole new day.
I've never attended a rally for anything if I'm honest with myself. See...seems to me that all of the important rallies I would have attended have been dealt with far before I was old enough to participate. There are things, of course, that I'm in support of and against but I really haven't ever felt compelled to leave my home to join other people who felt as I did about a certain something.
I didn't support the war in Iraq from the beginning and yet...I had no intention of joining folks marching against it.
I'm against racism of any form but...since I've been an adult I haven't even thought about heading somewhere to march with folks regarding.
I support gay people but nah...I'm not about to hold up a corner of their rainbow flag and march with them.
But I make my voice heard in other ways and with my vote.
When I first heard of the Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear it immediately spoke to me. The smart comedy coupled with sensibility just appealed to who I am as an American. EPIC SIGNAGE was the mantra from the start and I loved the thought of participating in a forum where the voices of people like myself would be heard and our signs would be posted all over the internet and media as well. I loved showing COLLECTIVELY just how flipping DUMB folks think this tea party nonsense is and I liked that people from all over connected with it as well on the same level.
As I was there looking around I felt really, really good knowing I was around "MY KINDA PEOPLE." People who used their brains when it came to their politics and weren't afraid to tag someone with FACTS and not talking points. FACTS.
See...facts give you a calming sense of knowing you're right. Facts make SENSE and you're able to think about them organically. Talking points don't provide you with an opportunity for further conversation because there is usually a big azz PERIOD after spewing out a talking point you heard from an idiot because there is nothing to support it so there is pretty much nothing left to say after.
Except for a whole bunch of laughter at the idiocy of it all.
Yesterday I looked around at people who were like me in all skin colors and ages. I loved the older White people, the middle aged Muslims in traditional Muslim attire, the young Black people, the Hispanics, the Asians, the Christians, the Jewish, the kids, the people in wheelchairs, etc. They all made me feel good.
Folks came from all over the United States to be with other people who are just like them. Who believe as they do and, who wanted to show a different side of Americans in the media because we'd decided there was truly too dang many images of stoopit Americans out there making it seem as if they were the pulse of what the majority of us are feeling.
I had some of the best conversations yesterday than I've had in a long, long time. Conversations with perfect strangers who were smiling, polite, smart and just fun as hell.
I had a good time man...a VERY good time. It was a good feeling can you tell?
We can't let them paint our country in ways we would never, ever, EVER support. We can't let them make it seem as if we are all out there supporting hate. We gotta let folks know with our voices and our votes that we are serious when it comes to our future.
We're not all idiots and we don't all speak in talking points.
