As yall know, I have a pretty tight internet family. We have each other's backs online as well as in real life. The ones that live here...we get together on the regular, the ones that don't live here...we see each other when we can but we KNOW each other. We've visited with each other...we are familiar with each other's actual, REAL, life.
The internet is full of good and bad as with anything else we deal with on a regular basis. And more and more, my internet family and I have been questioning the word usage we run across on the net. LOL!
I share A LOT with yall. The good and a whole lotta bad. Why? For me...it's therapy and I think that the crap I've dealt with or am dealing with can help someone else. People as a whole have been programmed to hide the negative and keep it all in and private. BLACK people have taken this philosophy to a WHOLE NUDDER LEVEL!
Don't be putting my business in the street!
(But...what if someone in the "streets" could help you cuz they've been there or have the information regarding resources available? How would they know to try and help you if they didn't KNOW?)
I had someone ask me why in the world did I post a post hospital pic of me looking VERY "un-Monnie-like." Hmmmmmmmmmmm. What's "Monnie-like?" I asked.
2007.
We have never been more image conscious as a society as we are. Everyone wants to bling. Everyone wants to look like a movie star and have the life of a movie star. Even regular normal people like us with definite NON-movie star money.
Everyone seems to care too damn much about how their lives "appear" to folks. Everyone wants to feel like their life is so much better than everyone else's around them and in the blog world...use their words to paint pictures to that effect.
Apparently...me...not so much...as to me...I have a LOT of gloom and doom. (I must not be using my words right/write. LOL!)
Makes me...no US...laugh our silly heads off.
My favorite is the person who tries to come off as a serious intellect using a vernacular they wouldn't use in a post wherein they are talking about say...an episode of their favorite television show. Like they are smarting up for us when in actuality...it seems smarter when you are able to break it down to the broke DOWNEDNESS. ROFL!
Or the person living La Vida Loca/Fabulosa and don't have not (yes I know that's a double negative) ONE.DANG.PIC to show for it.
I know of a few blogs without pics that I can understand...one of them being Single Ma's. I mean...her site is monetized. She's using it to MAKE MONEY. That's business. I understand that.
I spend a lot of my down time perusing the net for different perspectives from different blogs and man...it seems like there are only a handful of other people out there that have bad days as I do as most folks paint their lives with words in hues that are rich and vibrant.
Maybe I'm colorless. (I KNOW yall see the humor there right? RIGHT?)
My internet family and I share blogs that make us laugh and shake our heads via IM or email. We're like..."Houston...we've got a live one!" ROFL! Yall know the blogs I'm talking about as I'm sure it's the same ones that have given you pause cuz that ish just DON'T add up right. LOL! I KNOW yall...and I know yall ain't dumb.
What about you? You ever wonder who is lying and who is telling the truth? Don't you think that mess is going to catch up with em soon? The net is a small, damn world. For instance...one of my internet friends was visiting me on Saturday telling me about her new boyfriend and what he did...I exclaimed surprise as I have a friend that works in the same industry which is a VERY small industry. She picked up her phone and called him and asked if he knew my friend. The answer...yes...VERY WELL. The degrees of separation are getting smaller and smaller with the addition of the internet. GOTTA LOVE IT!
I find real life is very fascinating. Everyone's life is a beautiful intricate, woven fabric. I just wished I could be more certain that some of the fabrics I've been privy to in WWW haven't been photoshopped. :)
"YOU AIN'T GOTSTA LIE CRAIG!"
