Yall know I like most of my neighbors. We have a really good relationship and we're all pretty close as it relates to neighbor close ya know?
Yall also know that E comes to our home after school because he wasn't having the best experience at the after school program he was in so his mom decided he shouldn't go there anymore.
Well...during the Spring, Summer and Fall...this works out pretty well because he comes in, has his snack, does his homework and then goes outside to the park to play with his friends.
Unless it's raining.
Or...unless it's Winter.
Because then...the park seems to be our home.
Now...I don't necessarily have a problem with this because the kids in the neighborhood all know me well and follow my rules. And my MAIN rule is that there are no more than 3 kids at a time with all that kee-keeing and shoo-shooing...
And yet...I don't allow E to go inside anyone's home and I'm SERIOUS about that. If I ever caught him inside of someone's house he just might get cut cuz even as I know my neighbors...I don't know ANYONE like that and hell...the good Lord himself knows it would go DOWN-T if anyone touches a hair on the evil genius' head.
AND I'M SERIOUS BOUT THAT ISH!
Some kids have asked E why he can't come inside their home when they can come inside ours. E looks them dead in the eye and says, "Cuz my Godmother won't let me." And pretty much...in E-land...that's that.
I don't know them people like that and after watching them Oprah episodes...shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit...he might end up being the boy in the bubble after all that hell.
What about you? Do you allow YOUR kids to go inside anyone's home in the neighborhood? Is it odd that I let them come here but don't let him go there? Do I take my job as his protector when his mother isn't around too far?
