Do you think people with financially successful parents have a more difficult time finding a suitable mate these days? 

Scenario...

You know a chick who is single.

She has a good job.

Nothing spectacular.

She's cute.

She's gained 30 pounds since the last time you saw her.

She turns her nose up at guys all the time because her father is a doctor and her standards are waaaaaaay high because of.

She has natural hair (dyed red) and spends HOURS daily and HOURS at night on hair blogs and sites reading up on her HAIR. (o_0)

She's always on Twitter and FB while she's ALONE AT HOME.

She goes to work, church (5 to 6 hours on Sunday), her parents, to get her hair done and lunch and shopping with her sorors WEEKLY.

She doesn't make time to work out.

She complains she is LONELY.

What advice do YOU give her?  Do YOU know anyone like this?  Tell the truth and shame the devil...IS.THIS.YOU???????????????????????????

Imma try this on one when it hits the store for sure.  I've never really been successful with the actual fit of the clothes at Target because I'm way smaller up top than I am in the donk area but I think this would be  fit me because of the way it's cut.

Pure Perfection

In the quiet of my mornings I take the opportunity to do some really deep thinking while having my cup of coffee.  Sometimes it's about what I'm working on, sometimes it's about my relationships, sometimes it's about my next big thing. (Which is huge in my world.)

And sometimes it's all about recognizing just how happy I am with my life.

I'm not going to sit here and tell you that everything is perfect because I believe perfection is fluid.  I can sit here on this sofa with Robby having the most perfect evening knowing that I have a ton of work waiting for me on my desk that has to get done NOW, NOW, RIGHT NOW but I've learned how to make time for THE MOMENT and to LIVE in it.

And I think that's what a lot of people do wrong.

Everything isn't going to be perfect at any given time but the moment you're living in could be simply marvelous and learning to exist in the perfection of that moment is something you will be envied for.

Indeed.

I worry sometimes that people get lost in all of the things that aren't going exactly as they wish it was going that they can't have those little perfect moments that end up adding up to lots of perfect minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, etc.

And I wonder all the time how one goes to recognizing those perfect, perfect moments in life.

When was the last time YOU recognized a perfect moment in YOUR life?  Is this something you're good at doing?  Is it something YOU need help with?

I've never had color other than highlights for my wedding which ended up with my having TRAGIC breakage but I've since learned about my hair so I'm thinking I may can handle it.

We have relatively new neighbors.  A lovely couple with a beautiful brand new baby.

Yall know I'm kuntry so I welcomed them to the neighborhood when they moved in.  Cool.

Strawberries and Cherries Sangria!

I posted the recipe to Strawberries and Cherries Sangria after I found it looking for a FABULOUSLY fun drink to make for Saturday night.  Being a child of brain deadness I didn't read the recipe through...I simply saw the words strawberries, cherries and sangria and, coupled with the DELIGHTFUL photo thought...WOW!  THAT'S AWESOME!!!!!  Imma make it!

So I made my list of ingredients and off to the likka store, THE DAY OF THE PARTY, I went to get my one, two.

Here is the list:

3 2-inch cinnamon sticks

1 cup orange juice

2 full bottles of good-quality red wine

3/4 cup brandy

1/4 cup Grand Marnier

1/4 cup Cointreau

1/4 cup agave nectar

Lots of strawberries and cherries (trimmed and pitted, of course)

Nintendo Netflix Movie/Game Night Party!

As we talked about before...Netflix has partnered up with the Nintendo Wii and set it up so that you may do instant movie streaming to you television.  Yall know I'm alllllllllllllllll about that and have been using it faithfully. 

Nintendo contacted me a couple of months ago and asked if I thought my friends would like to learn more about it by way of a Wii/Netflix party and I was like...Um...duh...we LURVE an excuse to get together but my schedule didn't permit making it happen sooner.

So....this weekend we MADE IT HAPPEN CAPTAIN!

FIRST THINGS FIRST!

Yall KNOW Nintendo gives us free stuff because really...who is going to pay to try new stuff out?  LOL!  Yall also know they usually provide us with FABULOUS food and this time was no exception.  We were SPOILT with all the goodies to eat!

So we all got our mingle on and then headed downstairs to experience Wii online!  

Robby took over as MC because he's important.  (I was paid to say that.)

Isn't his sock line HILARIOUS?????  ROFL!

Nintendo provided point cards for all of us to upload new games to our Wii's.  I thought the 2000 point cards could only get you one new game but...SURPRISE, SURPRISE!  Most of the awesome games are only 1000 points!  GO ME!  So we could each get two new Wii games!  Heck...I can get one for my Wii and one for my DSi XL!  GO ME TWICE!!!!!!!!!!!

So we got some Wii action in.  Two of our guests had a Wii but not Wii Fit Plus so we made them battle it out to see who would win one.  At first they started playing Mario but seriously...a Mario battle really isn't that fun for those of us watching so we had them bowl it out!  LOL!  I love to PLAY Mario...not watch and I was getting antsy for the controller cuz they kept missing stars.  SHEESH!

We also had free Netflix membership for 3 months and there was a battle for that as well.  Let me tell yall...these folks are FUN-TAY!  And probably even more so because of the Strawberry Cherry Sangria we were nursing. 

Robby and I recently found a movie on Netflix that kept our attention, "Book of Love", and we were curious as to what they would think of it so we pulled that one up and got comfy to watch. 

Whew!  The commentary was HILARIOUS!  

ONE!

 

 

 

We had the loveliest of times sitting in the AIR CONDITIONED HOUSE eating, drinking, playing games and watching movies.  Nintendo...yall ROCK!

Your daughter is 15 years old and you are going through some MAJOR teenage growing changes with her.

She idolizes her father in a "fantasy" kind of way meaning that she doesn't really KNOW him but thinks he can do anything and loves her more than every.single.thing.

You know different but aren't the kinda mother who would put your child's father on blast.

In other words...he buys her anything she wants and that's all about parenting he's into.

After a HUGE fight she tells you she wants to go live with her father.

You're annoyed as shit and tell her if that's what she wants to do...fine.

The next day at the office you get a call from her father saying that basically...he can't have a 15 year old girl living with him so please talk to her. 

He hasn't returned the child's call.

Do you, as her mother, tell her that her father doesn't want her to live with him or do you simply tell her no...she can't go live with her father?

Not much irks me more than someone who is miserable in their own relationship trying to throw salt on someone who is in a good relationship by making it seem as if their misery is what everyone should expect sooner or later.

Neither you nor your boyfriend correct her because you didn't think it was a big deal.
