Day before yesterday The Robinator had to valet his truck.
When the valet returned it to him...the alarm was BLARING!
Now...most of you don't know The Robinator but a BLARING! alarm at the end of a workday in downtown DC is MORTIFYING!
Me? I would have checked it out and been like...hell...something is wrong with it...nothing I can do.
The Robinator? JESUS PLEASE NO STOP I CAN'T DEAL!
Major difference.
He hoped it was a fluke so when it went off...he was good. He got home, opened his door and the alarm went'a BLARING! again.
I wasn't home and neighbors were opening doors and ish wondering what the hell who the hell. When they saw Robby they said nothing and closed the doors. Hey...he's well known around these parts as being evil. Had it been me folks would have come over to help. LOL!
Moving on.
Yesterday? Same thing. He was MORTIFIED! I needed my truck so he just had to deal. I mean hey...it went off after a few minutes. He just had to deal with it initially.
We made plans to swap cars on Thursday so I could take it in to be fixed because we already knew that we were going to have THUNDERSNOW today.
Today we ended up swapping vehicles. I only had a few things to do and he wasn't going to be at the office for long because of the THUNDERSNOW.
I had back-to-back conference calls that got outta whack because one call went over so I ended up not leaving the house. I sent him a list of a few things he should stop and pick up from the neighborhood grocery store on the way home.
Phone rings.
Robby: Um...have you been having trouble with your truck?
Me: No. Why?
Robby: It won't start.
Me: Da hell? Are you okay? Where are you?
Robby: I'm fine. I'm over by the grocery store.
Me: I'll come get you.
Robby: No...let me try again. I don't want you to drive in this.
Now by this time it was after 4:30 pm and it had been snowing for about thirty minutes after a nice layer of sleet rolled out. The most dangerous snow to drive in, IN MY OPINION, is new snow. *sigh*
He didn't call back for like 10 minutes and I knew he was trying to figure out how NOT to have me drive out because he's ridiculously protective of me and thinks I can't drive in snow. #BOY.BYE! #ICanDoAnything #NinjasRULE!
I called him back and told him I was on my way just as soon as I cleaned off his truck and rolled out.
I opened the door of his truck and the alarm went'a BLARING! Whatever. I turned it on, cleaned it off, started it up and went got my MAN!
I pulled up next to Robby in my truck and he got out and opened the passenger side door to the truck I was driving. The alarm didn't go off. I opened the driver's door and the alarm went'a BLARING! again. We figured out that whatever was wrong with the alarm was only activated when the driver's door was opened. Robby transferred the packages to his truck while I tried to start the Rover. Hey...it's my sexy baby. (Sexy cuz it's paid for! HOLLA!) When she wouldn't turn over for me I went in and let them know the Rover was going to be there until we sent someone for it tomorrow to make sure it wasn't towed. Dude looked at me like...who the hell towing in this?
Good point playa...good point.
Robby needed gas so we pulled up to the gas station and Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaby...we caught a fit of giggles when both of us had to slide out on the passenger side so the alarm didn't start BLARING! again.
Robby: This is some bootleg azz ish.
Me: (singing the Dukes of Hazzard theme song) BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
We got home safe, called roadside assistance and scheduled for them to pick up the Rover tomorrow to drop it off to Mr. Mechanic. We popped a bottle of wine and decided that the best place in the world is 13700.
Robby: Thank you for rescuing me!
Me: You know I'd come get you from anywhere no matter what.
Robby: Yeah...I know. I love you.
Me: I love you too.
I'm thinking jewels are in order. What do YOU think? Have YOU ever had to roll out and get someone in less than stellar conditions?
