My father was serious about doing what he said to do when he said to do it.
He didn't play with this, of course.
He explained it by saying...it could save your life one day and that if he tells you to DROP...there is a good reason and you need to do it IMMEDIATELY.

Please note that my Godson has been taught this as well and that, yesterday, when I told him to put it back and start walking...there was no conversation.
He put it back and started walking.
Listening could save his life one day.
