Your 8 year old son is very outspoken.
He's having a few food issues and you're encouraging him to explore his food options.
He's decided he wants to try to be a vegetarian and has been doing it for about 3 months.
He has a friend from school who comes over to your house often for a playdate.
The friend's mother comes over and sits sometimes while they play.
She's cool.
The school has to close early for an emergency and you have a big meeting and can't leave immediately.
Your husband is out of town.
You call the friend's mother and ask could she pick your child up too and arrange to pick him up an hour and a half after the mother picks them up.
She says of course.
After all...you've done it for her before.
Your pick up your child and he's upset.
You ask why and he tells you that they stopped at McDonald's on the way home and that he told her he's a vegetarian.
She tells him that he has to eat what she gets or he'll be hungry.
He gets some french fries to be polite but doesn't eat them.
She gets mad.
She doesn't SAY anything to him but he knew she was mad.
