I was having breakfast with friends recently and someone asked me how long ago was it that I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I casually said, I was 23 and now I'm 43 so yeah...20 years.
And it hit all of us at the same time. I'm a 20 year survivor and hey...that's MAJOR.
Like...MAJOR.
Early detection is 100% CERTAINLY the reason I'm still here and I find myself sharing my story more and more with women so they know how important it is to make sure they go to doctor for physicals annually. I was blessed that I had really good insurance but I worry about those who don't so yeah...this is also the main reason I'm glad Planned Parenthood exists so women in economically poor areas have access to early detection too.
Well...that's kinda all I want to say.
Twenty years. WOW.
