Hi all,
Precip is struggling to advance northward. Rain continues to fall from southern AA and PG counties thru Charles Co and Prince William Co Va westward to the mountains. There is precip falling above the DC metro but it's not reaching the ground because of the dryer air which infiltrated the area at the lower levels.
Precip is still expected late this afternoon and evening to reach the immediate metro area but it will not be much. For the southern burbs the rain will continue and slowly change to snow after sunset and end later tonight. Since it's still raining, snow accumulations will have to be cut again. So here goes:
NADA for Frederick, Carroll, Baltimore Counties
0-1" for Mont., Fairfax, DC, PG , AA, Arlington, and Loudoun Co Va ( I'm praying for ground coverage at least)
1-2" for Charles,Calvert in Md, PRince William in Va
2-4" for St Marys in Md, Stafford and Fredericksburg Va. areas
Any precip that falls should make streets just be wet during the rush hour but, in this area, there are traffic troubles with sunshine and, with snow/rain falling, expect a longer commute home.
BTW, got a report of sleet falling in Fairfax Co. The lower atmosphere is finally moistening up
Have a good evening and a safe drive home
