I'm pretty happy with the level of organization I have going on at home. I do little things daily to make sure that it never gets completely out of hand and looks like a mess. Other than the seemingly constant laundry going on here...it's always surface clean.
When I'm not crazy busy...I can even keep the laundry dealt with properly but starting a load when I first wake up and tossing it in the dryer after my workout. They can stay in the dryer forever and I try and focus on only doing another load when I have time to fold the load in the dryer.
Totally hoping this sticks for a while this time or we'll have "guests" in the guest room soon. LOL!
I try and keep the foyer area straight. It's hard because it seems there's always 6 pair of shoes there.
I haven't the slightest idea why. Only two people live here. But yeah...6 pair of shoes and currently none of them are mine.
GO ME!
I sweep the foyer area and outside the front door.
I straighten my nightstand every morning after I make the bed. Seems a good time to tackle it and I put away everything that is not in it's spot.
After I brush my teeth and wash my face, I wipe down the sink and counter with a Clorox wipe. Swish and I'm generally done.
When I get my second cup of coffee I wash the pots and pans. Robby generally loads and unloads the dishwasher but he doesn't do the big stuff. I then hit the sinks with some Comet with bleach and scrub lightly with the sink brush, rinse and wipe off with paper towels.
Next...powder room. I keep a brush and some toilet bowl cleaner in there so I hit a quick swish and then wipe the seat with a Clorox wipe. I straighten my reading area and if I SEE dust...I do something about it.
Doing this stuff generally takes me about 30 - 45 minutes or so and it helps big time.
I boil eggs twice a week for my breakfast and I buy organic frozen fruit for my smoothies. Lunch is generally leftovers from dinner the night before. Sounds small I know...but it makes a difference already having something ready to eat when your stomach tells you it's time to eat.
What are some of the things YOU do daily to make sure your house generally looks "surface" clean? What are YOUR daily household tips you find you HAVE to do or it will all get away from you and (if you have a housekeeper) subsequently piss off your housekeepers?
