Gluten Free Less Sodium Soy Sauce

I love sushi but have to remember to bring gluten free soy sauce with me.  Sometimes...I'm out and about and decide I want sushi and then can't get any because I don't have soy sauce with me.  Once you open a bottle of soy sauce...you need to put it in the fridge so you can't keep it in your vehicle just in case.

The last time this happened I got mad so I started looking for soy sauce in individual packets that I can keep in my truck.  I found these recently and they arrived yesterday.

Sometimes we get random checks.  Refunds for stuff we overpaid, etc.  Those checks generally collect dust for a while before someone actually makes it to the bank to deposit it.

And now...that doesn't happen anymore because we LURVE the Bank of America phone app which allows you to deposit checks from your phone.  I'm telling you...it's a LIFE.CHANGER!

Does your bank offer this?  Have you used it yet?  I'm telling you...the most difficult thing about it is taking the picture of the check.  You have to be steady to get the whole check inside the guidelines.  Yup!  LURVE!!!!!!!!!

And yeah...once she did that bullshit about the Emmy...I was completely done with her.

After she won an Emmy in 2007, the next year she refused to submit herself, publicly bashing the writers for not giving her good enough material. And if that weren’t enough, she fought with Shonda over her contract, and once she was let out of it — she failed to show up for her last day of work!

So...even though she was all out in public being unprofessional and whatnot with her boss and colleagues, folks still kept giving her roles and big money to play those roles.  I guess they thought it was Shonda and NOT little miss sunshine huh?

So now...she's back to television with a new drama coming on NBC.  She's going to be a CIA agent with a complicated personal life.  *YAWN*

Then...The Hollywood Reporter put her on blast so tough...Shonda probably read it, folded it neatly, and put it to the side without nary a chuckle because a woman with class would not gloat over the final checkmate of the game she ended YEARS ago and kept it moving.

Black / White Marriage

A Black woman told me that White people get married for the first time in their 20s and Black people don't get married until their 30s and beyond.  She said it started being this way after our parents' generation.

Blanket statement I know.

She'd annoyed me earlier so I was being argumentative with her.

I've thought about it since then and discussed it with some of my family and framily.

Their opinion varied.

Fall Outdoor Decor Time!

I saw this on Pinterest and I wanted it:

I have two wreaths for fall and one of them was kinda similar.  Larger berries.  I didn't have brown ribbon nor a random 'M' hanging around so I had to roll out to Michael's and make that happen.  Not before going to their website and sending a 40% off coupon via text to my phone though.  GO ME!

The 'M' was $2.99.  The roll of ribbon was $8 something.  I got 40% off the ribbon, came home, and got out my crafty box:

Now...yall don't know this about me...but ya girl is a sharp shooter when it comes to wielding a glue gun.  YEAH I SAID IT!  POP, POP!  

So I tied some stuff and glued some stuff and twisted some stuff and yup...jazzed my old wreath up something ferocious for around $5 if you factor in how much ribbon I actually used.

I'm pretty pleased with it.  Sure...I could have purchased another wreath EXACTLY like the one pictured but honestly...I was pretty proud of myself that I didn't and simply used what I already had.  Check me out saving and ish.  LOL!

New Robe

I need a new everyday robe after a tragic bleaching incident.

I've been wearing The Robinator's robe cuz he doesn't really wear his robe until it gets cold.

He told me the other day that it's bout time I stop using his robe cuz he doesn't want any trouble.

Humph.

I've been thinking about how much I LOVE his robe.

It's big and the pockets are AWESOME.  The weight of it is really heavy and it just feels all velour-ey good and it's LONG on me!

I think I'm going to buy me a man's robe.

I'm a 50-year-old professional man. I married my college sweetheart and we've been happily married for almost 30 years. We have two grown children who are doing well. We went to his place and had (safe) sex. I'd never had sex with a man before. I found it to be interesting and enjoyable, but not something I'd been longing for all of my life. My neighbors went to Pakistan and borrowed my Canon Ultrasonic Zoom EF 17-40mm 1:4 lens so they could take some amazing photos of their home country.

They brought me back these GORGEOUS jade and onyx handcarved glasses that I'm totally going to use as vases!  GO ME!  I can't WAIT to do a tablescape with them!

I'm not a good neighbor because I expect awesome gifts but hey...if awesome gifts come with the territory...SO BE IT!  LOL!

Home Maintenance: Getting Ready for Fall!

A couple of weeks ago we started getting the house ready for Fall.  We only have a few things to do but we have to do them.

We trimmed the big cherry blossom tree away from touching the house in the front.

We did touch-up painting to the front door and power washed the landing and steps.

I have bulbs I need to plant and I'll do those before the first freeze and then do fresh mulch while I decorate for Halloween.

We need to clean the carpets in the house and make sure the dryer vents are cleaned out.

Once we start using the heater, we'll rotate the blades on the ceiling fans to clockwise position to help keep the heat from rising.

We need to check to make sure our covered gutters don't have cracks in them and, if so, fix with caulk.

Gotta make sure the windows don't need new caulking so we can keep drafts out.

Oh...and I need to check our ice melt supply and restock it if need be to make sure we're not out in the elements with everyone else trying to get some in preparation for a storm.

And gas in our cans in case we need to run the generator this season.

Whew...and break down the deck furniture once it's too cold.

Yup...getting ready for winter around these parts!  Have you started doing any fall maintenance yet?  We try to keep up with maintenance because our home is our largest investment.  Do you feel the same?

Wegmans

I have no food in my house currently so we are eating cabinet and freezer food as I am DETERMINED to not shop for groceries until Sunday, September 15th when the new Wegmans down the street opens.

Scenario from real life...

A couple get pregnant.

The 26 year old woman is elated.

The 28 year old man is not.

The man urges her to not have the baby.

She wants to have the baby.

The man takes her to his father's fertility clinic to check to see if all is well.

They find out she's 6 weeks pregnant.

Later, the man tells the woman that his father called and said she had some sort of infection and needed to take amoxicillin three times a day.

He gave her the pills.

She took them.

Turns out the pills were Cytotec, the abortion pill and she lost the baby.

She is suing him and he was just found guilty of murdering the baby.  He could get up to 13 years in jail.

My questions to you:

1.  Does his father being a fertility doctor make you think weird thoughts? 

2.  Should he go to jail for doing this?

3.  If the roles were reversed and SHE had the abortion without his consent...do you think she should or would go to jail for 13 years?

One of my FABULOUS girlfriends is single and dating online.  The other day she received a message from a guy who looked promising as it relates to his profile.  He asked could they skip all the formalities and go straight to email so she did.  He then told her he was only looking for sans ropas hookups and wanted to know if she was down.

I told her to go radio silence and block dude.

Simple.

She's since had two more propositions of this same kind and I'm worried that she's going to get discouraged and give up cuz honestly...that's a lot of bullshit to deal with.
