I remembered the other day that I wanted to buy one and decided to go to Amazon and get one:
Google Chromecast HDMI Streaming Media Player
And it came today! GO ME! I'm not going to tell yall how I checked my delivery confirmation earlier today and it said it had been delivered so I went to my front door and it wasn't there and I was about to call UPS and tell somebody something about something but then I noticed it said USPS and I was shame and then sent Robby to the mailbox to get it because I was in my monkey pants and inside slippers and wasn't about to switch.
WHEW!
So...it's here and it's pretty much plug and play. You follow the directions on the television screen after switching to the coordinating HDMI source channel and then...VOILA! It works! Whatever is on the browser on your computer you can watch on television! This is going to be sooooooooooo cool on my bedroom television which isn't a smart TV! It's not that awesome on the family room television because it has apps. HOWEVER...it makes it easier to search for stuff since you're searching using your computer keyboard instead of the remote move to this letter, click enter, move to that letter, click enter nonsense.
You use another browser tab to play what you want to watch and then...you can still use your computer to do whatever it is you normally do on the computer while watching television if you do. I can't WAIT to be in a hotel next and watch Netflix on their television! (I can never find anything on televisions in hotel rooms and it made me realize that I really watch far more movies and Netflix than anything else.)
And, of course, I watched my latest Housewifery video on YouTube just because it was cool to do! LOL! How to Make a Burlap Wreath - EASY AND INEXPENSIVE!
This is soooooooooooooooo worth the $35! Honestly...I think I'm going to buy another one just to keep in the bedroom so that I don't have to move it if I don't want to. Robby is excited because he sometime watches his college football games online and now he will be able to watch it on the television! And I can't WAIT to start using it to listen to NPR on my bedroom television in the morning! And yall know www.PBS.org ALWAYS has some good stuff on their site! And what about all the channels that offer full episodes of their shows online only? YES! YES! YES!
Okay...two important things here:
1. Make sure your television has an HDMI port before you buy it.
2. It gets pretty hot supposedly so it's probably not a good idea to keep plugged in when not in use.
SO EXCITED AND EXCITING!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is seriously going to change television watching and I think cable companies should be very, very scared. If I didn't have a sportsaholic in my household...I'd cut the cable cord TOMORROW!
